Undergraduate Students

The following information outlines information necessary for undergraduate students to apply for graduation and participate in Commencement. Please review the following information carefully.

Application for Graduation

• Undergraduate students must submit the Undergraduate Application for Graduation during the early part of senior year, on or before the date specified in the University Calendar.
• A $25 graduation fee is required with the application, unless the fee is covered by a state scholarship.
• Download the Undergraduate Application for Graduation or visit Student Service and Referral Center or Student Accounts and submit by the deadline. The application fee is due to Student Accounts or can be dropped off in the mail slot on the first floor of Moulton Hall.

Commencement Participation

• Undergraduate students who are eligible to graduate and interested in participating in the commencement ceremony in which they walk across the stage to receive their diploma, must check YES on the Undergraduate Application for Graduation by the published deadline.
• An application and graduation fee must be on file by the deadline to participate in the commencement ceremony.
• Undergraduate students completing degree requirements during the fall semester participate in the December ceremony.
• Undergraduate students completing degree requirements during the spring or summer semesters participate in the May ceremonies.
• Any exceptions to this participation regulation must be approved by the Office of the University Registrar.     

Graduate Students

The following information outlines information necessary for graduate students to apply for graduation and participate in Commencement. Please review the following information carefully.

Application for Graduation

• Students must submit the Application for Completion of Graduate Degree with their Plan of Study early during the semester of the anticipated degree completion. Both must be on file by the published deadline date along with the $30 fee to be considered as a candidate for the degree.
• Students must finish all coursework, projects, thesis, dissertation, transfers, comprehensive exams, incompletes, etc. that may be outstanding in order to complete degree requirements by the determined date.

• If you are completing your degree requirements in May, the deadline to submit your Application for Completion of Graduate Degree is January 22, 2008.

Commencement Participation

• Graduate students who are eligible to graduate and interested in participating in the commencement ceremony in which they walk across the stage to receive their diploma, must complete the commencement participation section on the second page of the Application for Completion of Graduate Degree by the published deadline.
• An application and paid graduation fee must be on file by the deadline date to participate in the commencement ceremony.
• Master's Degree candidates completing degree requirements during the fall semester participate in the December ceremony.
• Master's Degree candidates completing degree requirements during the spring or summer semesters participate in the May ceremonies.
• Any exceptions to this participation regulation must be approved in writing by the Director of Graduate Studies in the Graduate School .
